This video really was practically made for us, except the fact that we don't really need an icon, we are our own icon, FOR LIFE, LIBERTY, LOVE AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!

The lyrics go: (if your country has already blocked YouTube)

I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
They're burning into the night

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go around
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Oh, superman, where are you now?
When everything's gone wrong somehow?
The men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time, this is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go around
Tell me why this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago
When the sun was shining
And all the stars were bright all through the night
In the wake of this madness, as I held you tight
So long ago

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know we'll never keep

There's too many men, too many people
Making too many problems
And there's not much love to go round
Can't you see this is a land of confusion?

Now, this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to

Now doesn't that sound like us? Join the fight, see my Guide to the Resistance ([link] to Prologue) for a contingency plan in case we fail the first time.

Now, I dislike piracy, since the video game programmers have to eat and feed their families too, but sometimes, it is all that carries on a legacy like the 2007 game Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance which is unfindable in stores now... I believe that anything out of print should be pirate-able, but it should be illegal to pirate still-in-print goods. Interestingly, to those who wonder why I didn't buy it through Steam, I did not get ANY results about Steam when I Googled back then "where to buy Supreme Commander Forged Alliance", and I didn't know Steam existed until 2011.

I've already posted this as entries in two groups' journals (Anonymouswearelegion and OccupyArtists), but it seems to not be getting a response, and I can't add straight to other groups... so here we are, adding to all of them (including repeat of the aforementioned 2 groups).

Please comment, and share these links everywhere.

Or if it doesn't show up, the game can be found on Steam, just as any games from the 80s and 90s can be found on www.gog.com.

Even if you can't find it in the stores, they have online sites to find these games. You could probably even find them on Amazon if you tried.

OK...

The fact is that they need to set a proper definition of online piracy, and how to prevent the intellectual property of others from being claimed by others and getting deleted. On Steam, there are older games that developers put up for free, and the benefit of such sites like Steam is that you don't get hit by a virus from the file sharing sites that you want to defend.

HEY YOU!

READ THIS:

What many people don't realize about buying digital files online is that you aren't really buying the file; you're just buying a license to use it. Such as video games. The wording from the Steam download services says that paying full price for a game grants ...

"... a limited, terminable, non-exclusive license and right to use the Software for your personal use in accordance with this Agreement and the Subscription Terms. The Software is licensed, not sold. Your license confers no title or ownership in the Software."

What. The. Fuck. My hard-copy of SupCom 2 (first contact with Steam, and the hot gas burned me pretty bad with how much of a disaster the game turned out to be compared to its epic ancestor) might not even work without Steam. I had to download SO many files to install... it was MADNESS.

Yes, on Steam you don't get a virus, but you pay for what? Absolutely nothing if their service ever has to belch, and get this: NO REFUNDS.

Refunds over the internet is hard to do, I don't use Steam though. You can also pretty much buy it online through Amazon. Right now selling the digital files of games is new stuff, so it'll take a while for them to get it perfected. Nothing starts off as being perfect, but at least this way there's no viruses and the programmers get money from it.

Really? Even places like GameStop resell used games for almost the same price, and so they can make up to 4 or 5 times the sell price of one game off that game while only giving the game makers say half the retail sale price of the game.

The programmers get money? You made me laugh so much...

Yeah, I didn't know about Steam's existence until like last year.

Google doesn't show Steam's webpages apparently, because I searched for legit buying and I didn't find it.

Agreed they need a proper definition, did you notice that it's in fact the record labels that are suffering and not the artists? The music industry is making more every year, but record label revenues are shrinking while artists' money grows, hence the RIAA is up in arms since its artists are earning freedom.

I thought the lyrics seemed familiar! I love Disturbed's version.
